Michelle Gyeatuo is a Bronx, New York native and Camera Operator for Next Sound Live. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Studies, which provided her with a strong foundation in media production and visual storytelling.
Before joining Next Sound Live, Michelle gained hands-on experience across film and television production, camera operation, production assistance, and photography. Her professional experience includes work on productions associated with HBO, Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures, BronxNet, The Bronx Journal, and other media organizations and productions.
Throughout her time in the industry, Michelle has developed a strong appreciation for the collaborative nature of television and film production. She believes every role plays an important part in bringing a production to life and that the strongest results come from a team working toward a shared creative vision.
Her work with Next Sound Live has allowed her to further develop her skills behind the camera, with a focus on shot composition, timing, anticipation, and capturing the moments that help tell the story of each performance. Working in a live studio environment has also strengthened her ability to anticipate action, respond quickly to direction, communicate effectively with the production team, and understand how her camera work contributes to the producers’ vision and the overall presentation of the show.
Michelle continues to expand her creative and technical abilities, with the goal of further developing her expertise in camera operation while pursuing opportunities in directing, editing, and other areas of production.
For Michelle, Next Sound Live represents more than entertainment. She views the series as a creative community built on unity, inclusivity, and representation—a platform where artists, production professionals, and individuals from different backgrounds and experiences can come together and have their voices represented. She sees Next Sound Live as a reflection of the present moment: a platform that documents today’s independent talent, creativity, and culture while building a community around the people who help bring it to life.
